This is the website for the St Ives Birders. If you've stumbled across this site because you want to know where to find the best pasties in St Ives; or you want to complain about the horrendous parking during the summer; or you want to be shown the dolphins at precisely 11:30 because you have lunch booked at 12:00, then you've come to the wrong place. We'd suggest Makers for the pasties (Google it, kidz), the council for all your parking needs; and, unfortunately, despite copious amounts of fish, the dolphins refuse to negotiate on performance times - and we've just run out of fish. So, you know, you might have to be a little patient and wait around for a bit and the dolphins usually swim past at some point. But, yeah ... we know ... patience, huh??!! Gosh ...
On the other hand if you do want to know about where to go birding around St Ives, and you would like to know what has been seen, what is likely to be seen, who we are and stuff like that - then you HAVE come to the right place!
In here you'll find our Daily Sightings page; our Blog page where we post stuff we think worth ... er .. posting. You'll also find information about the area and where to go to find birds. If you're only interested in up to the minute birds news, you can get that elsewhere. But, if you are in the area for a while and you would like to hear about, and maybe contribute to, interesting local sightings - you can join our Whatsapp group while you're here. (As long as you don't mind being Whatzapped by a load of nonsense in amongst bird news).
